Funding is provided by the Huffman Foundation, a nonprofit organization supporting education assistance for those pursuing a career in the aviation industry.

1. APPLICATION PERIOD OPENS - MAY 15, 2025

2. APPLICATIONS DUE - JULY 15TH, 9PM AKST

3. SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED - MID-AUGUST 2025

ELIGIBILITY:

• Applicants must be over 16 years of age and a legal US resident.

• Either be a resident of Alaska or have plans to attend training or study in state.

APPLICATION:

• The application period is from May 15 – July 15th, 2025.

• Completed and signed application must be submitted by 9pm AKST on July 15th, 2025.

• Please include an official high school and/or college transcripts showing a GPA of at least 3.0.

• An essay must accompany your application. It must be typed, double spaced using 12 point font, and no more than 2 pages long.

  • You will upload the essay directly when you submit the completed application.

  • Essay Question: Please describe your aspirations in the aviation industry and field of choice. Also, describe your leadership skills and personal commitment goals as it affects who you are as a person.

• Include a letter of reference that you will upload directly when you submit the completed application. If your reference would prefer to send the letter directly, please have them email it to info@huffmanfoundation.com with your name in the subject line.

     

OTHER INSTRUCTIONS:

• You may begin the application as "practice" or to prepare your answers but not submit unless you are ready to complete it in a single session. If you navigate away from the page, your answers will not be saved.

• Your application will be reviewed by members of the Scholarship Committee and the fund holder.

• Selection will be based on a student's commitment to their chosen field, overall academic progress, extracurricular activities and leadership qualities.

• Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. The finalist will be contacted by email and the scholarship will be awarded in mid-August.
